10 Terrible Things That Could Happen On a Date

10 Terrible Things That Could Happen On a Date

This is just a short list of ten things I feel would be terrible to happen on a date ( thanks to Steven Johnson for the idea):

Writing or Teaching, where does my opinion belong?

Writing or Teaching, where does my opinion belong?

As you all know, or at least I hope you know. I am a very opinionated person, I always have advice for people, and that’s good because people ask for it. Well I’m also a sports fanatic, that loves to talk and write. So the predicament is, I don’t know if I should major in Sports journalism and broadcasting or Psychology. I know it seems like everyone that majors in psychology is waiting tables, but I’m not sure I have the confidence in my writing ability to allow my parents to pay a ridiculous amount of money so I can end up not writing. Life comes at you Fast!

Life comes at you Fast!

You ever have that deep feeling in your stomach. The one that just makes your whole body sag in it’s seat, knowing that there is still 30 more mind-crushing minutes left in this pointless class. Those 30 minutes feel like the rest of your life rapped up in a few minutes. But once it’s over, you’re like, “wow, where’d that time go?” That’s what life is like. At some points, you can’t wait till this part of your life is over. Others, you want to last forever. The thing about life is that it always changes, nothing ever stays the same.

Computer Viruses: Random or Planned?

Computer Viruses: Random or Planned?

Ever wonder how computers get viruses? You know what I am talking about, those annoying little bugs that slow or even crash your computer! Ever wonder where they came from, or even who had the audacity to make them? Microsoft has been dealing with these “viruses” for years now; ever wonder why Apple has none? What if Apple had published these viruses to annoy PC users, like many of us are, so much that it pushed people into buying a Mac. Continue Reading

Who do you do it for and why?

Who do you do it for and why?

Every second of your life will have a decision, whether it be sitting there doing your homework, or maybe even running. Many of the decisions made by our society lack this question behind it. We do what is expected of us and if we don’t, we’re not always certain why. I know kids my age that are glued to school like their life depended on it. Kids that are going into the military because when they see their military dad, it feels like their life depends on it. There’s kids that smoke weed all day and skip school, but if you ask them “who do you it for and why?” They have no idea who and hardly know why, maybe its only because whoever it is that surrounds them influenced them into making those decisions. Marijuana legal in California?

Marijuana legal in California?

If your entire state was going bankrupt and 56% of its residents supported marijuana, would you pass a law making it legal? Well for California the law has been put on the ballots this year. This will make it legal for anyone 21 or over to have an ounce on them for personal use. Not that marijuana wasn’t found on a Californian resident often anyway, my only experience in California was my 16th birthday trip where I saw an enormous amount of people walking with a blunt on the open streets.

They Make Me Feel Insecure

They Make Me Feel Insecure

I, like many other teenage girls, have a subscription to Seventeen magazine. I love the great information it has about health, fashion, and boys (<3), but lately I’ve been increasingly upset by the appearance of the stick-thin models that grace the pages of ads and fashion pages. Most girls probably don’t even think about it, but to me, putting bony, lanky women with seemingly “perfect” bodies in magazines is a big mistake. To me, its no worse than subliminal messaging. An ordinary, overweight girl such as myself will look at the outfit the woman is wearing and that might be the end of it. But you can’t look at the outfit without looking at the model. The image, much like a subliminal message, has been put into your mind, and you didn’t even realize it. Continue Reading

Video Game Overload

Video Game Overload

Ever heard the term ‘he broke her heart, she broke his Xbox’? Have you ever gotten frustrated with someone (usually a guy) who spends so much time on the Xbox or Playstation? It’s great that it can be played live with friends, but it just sucks away your life. People spend hours after school and into the night playing, then complain the next day about not getting enough sleep. Go figure? It seems these are the latest trends to distracting yourself or an addiction. Mindless amount of controls, same terrains over and over, brain cells melting away. I say this is worse than watching hours of TV. Maybe then you could get a hold of your Xbox junky friend for once.

Two Skating Brothers

Two Skating Brothers

Who would’ve thought that a walk into a Wal-Mart would change the lives of two brothers. Adam and Nick McNeil both walked into a Wal-Mart a little over a year ago and decided to buy some skateboards. At the time, they saw it as a way to pass the time or just something to do. After only an hour, they landed their first tricks, a pop shove it for Nick, and a Kick flip for Adam, they realized this is something they could see themselves doing for awhile and for more than just fun.
